One to Six color Print Publishing

There's a lot more stress designing for print than there is for web! Anyone who has done print publishing knows the "pre-press-stress" effect. That feeling you get at the press check where no matter how many times the piece has been proofed, some stupid misspelling might rear it's ugly head and all the film work and plates have to be redone. Then there's all the variables: the high-res imagery being properly produced; the color sync and separations; screen alignment; fonts; kerning; and finally the surprise of the color coming off the press. There's nothing worse than having 100K pieces printed with a critical error or bad color. I know what your thinking... I somehow dodged that bullet, but what comes off the press is rarely exactly what you imagined. In contrast, with the web, you just make the fix and in most cases no harm done. It's been awhile since I've done a 6 color brochure and although the digital tools are much improved the nuances are still very present.
